Icons missing from app menu. changing theme does nothing

I have missing icons in my app menu and no matter what icon theme i select and apply nothing changes.

I don't get where icons are missing.
What icons do you expect?

If you look at the left sidebar of the Application Menu, the icons there are your favorites . Unless you are missing some items that you added, I see nothing missing where you circled. There are no icons for each category in this menu alternative, iirc.
