Until a few days ago, I was used KDE 4.x with Linux Mint 17.3.
A few days ago, I format my computer and install Linux Mint 18 with Plasma 5.

I view that, when open Dolphin, I configured it for view previews, but not appear any preview of all my videos.
With KDE 4.x this works fine, but with Plasma 5 not work.

I install mplayerthumbs, but after, not appears in config of previews of Dolphin.
Also, I installed ffmpegthumbs, and after install, this yes appears for activate in previews of Dolphin, but I activate but continue with the same issue, not preview any video, only appears a icon of avi, mp4....etc....

Could you tell the version numbers of the Dolphin and the ffmpegthumbs ?

Could you tell what and where the ffmpegthumbs is installing ?
- Ubuntu (and the Ubuntu based ?) do (did ?) have problems with the paths: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1574037

Yes, ffmpegthumbs version is: 4.15.12.3
And the version of Dolphin is: 15.12.3

Could you tell what and where the ffmpegthumbs is installing ?

Sorry, I don't know very well the question, I installed ffmpegthumbs by terminal "sudo apt-get install ffmpegthumbs", and after this, activate this previews in Preferences-Dolphin.

Yes, I used Linux Mint 18 KDE, that Plasma of Mint its bassed in Kubuntu.
I read your link about this problem, and yes, that its my problem.
I made the solution indicate in the link, and now works fine.

Configure Dolphin -> General -> Previews
And select Video Files (ffmpegthumbs)
