Hello.
i use kde neon on wayland. If program crashes and dr. konqi appears, and the crash is not usefull unless you install some debug symbols --- in kde4 version the dr konqi himself tried to find those files, whereas here it jut gives you a list of files (which are nt packages, so you could copy paste into konsole). For example: The packages containing debug information for the following application and libraries are missing: /usr/bin/plasmashell /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libKF5WaylandClient.so.5 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Gui.so.5 for example /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libKF5WaylandClient.so.5 is actually package called (note the other "5" and "dbgsym" instead of "dbg") "libkf5waylandclient5-dbgsym" thre is no "qt5" dbg files and plasmashell is "dbg" instead of "dbgsym". Thus reporting an crash became much more time consuming and more difficult to get 3 stars from crash reports. It means only the fluent-er linux pasma5 users wll be able to post more usefull crashes generated by dr. konqi. is there a specific reason why the new dr, konqi changed how debug files are named and that they can only be installed manually...? if it helps --- Some other information:
thankyou! Simon:) |

There is a KDE Neon sub group: viewforum.php?f=309 You could ask if the other Neon users know the right packages. |
