The problem is that after logging out/in the desktop icons and widgets are lost on both the PC monitor and the cloned TV. So I have to unify the displays again. Was having success a couple months ago with Plasma 5.7.5 from kubuntu ppa/staging-plasma, but failed again with Plasma 5.8.4 from kubuntu ppa/backports. So I checked Neon 5.8 - still not working. Finally it is working for me with Plasma 5.9.4 on Kubuntu 17.04
