wallpaper and xdg association

Tue Feb 21, 2017 9:20 am
Hello,

I am a Gentoo Linux/ KDE-Plasma user. I am having an issue with the wallpapers: when I try to install different wallpapers, I get the message: " 'Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (xdg) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context'". At first, I click on "install", and I see a message the wallpaper could not be installed. Then I click on the link, and firefox sends me to the page where a jpeg for the wallpaper is, I try to install it from there and I get the above message. The Firefox version I have is 45.0, and I have a fresh copy of Gentoo, installed just a few days ago. I do not know whether it is an issue related to Firefox, or KDE-Plasma.
Any input will be appreciated,

Enrico
