Hi, I use fedora 25 kde spin, plasmashell 5.8.5. I did a "dnf update" yesterday and rebooted (as there was a kernel update), however after logging in, kde doesn't show the taskbar.
I tried to "killall plasmashell" and "kstart plasmashell", but nothing happens, see .xsession-errors

$ ps -ef|grep plasma
claudio 4371 1 0 20:14 ? 00:00:00 /usr/bin/plasmashell

$ cat ~/.xsession-errors
Warning: Only changing the first 9 of 12 buttons.
startkde: Starting up...

So, do you known how to debug or fix it ?

There was lots of KDE packages from updates repository, I updated them and it worked.
Looks like fedora policy should improve in this matter, as

dnf history shows the 110 update that broke the taskbar, the 112 updated lots of packages that fixed the problem.
