Hi,

I am having a problem where everything is too large. I need a DPI of 144 (also the result of xdpyinfo). I recall having this problem many years ago as well on another laptop, but was able to solve it then (probably by forcing the DPI)

System information

fedora25
kernel: 4.9.14-200.fc25.x86_64
nvidea: NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-378.13
plasma 5.8.6

What i have tried so far

Removed ~/.config and ~/.cache

Contents of ~/.config/kcmfonts
Code: Select all
[General]
forceFontDPI=144

Contents of /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Code: Select all
Section "Monitor"
    Identifier     "Monitor0"
    VendorName     "Unknown"
    ModelName      "Unknown"
    HorizSync       28.0 - 33.0
    VertRefresh     43.0 - 72.0
    Option         "DPMS"
    Option         "UseEdidDpi" "FALSE"
    Option         "DPI" "144 x 144"
EndSection

When logging into a gnome session everything looks fine. Adjusting the fonts sizes only effects some application (not qt, java apps etc). Strangely enough chrome looks fine without any font adjustments.

Any help is highly appreciated.
