Running Arch Linux with plasma-desktop 5.9.5-1.

I had the following .desktop file in .config/autostart:
Code: Select all
[Desktop Entry]
Name=Dropbox
GenericName=File Synchronizer
Comment=Sync your files across computers and to the web
Exec=dropbox start -i
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Icon=dropbox
Categories=Network;FileTransfer;
StartupNotify=false
Now, I don't have dropbox installed. But despite just an error message, the whole plasmashell seems to crash. As long as this file exists, the login freezes during the splash-screen.

Can someone confirm this issue?

Check your autostart folders. 5.9.5 did some changes in the way programs are autostarted, and now it may be trying to parse some bogus autostart entries that were ignored before.

...and you may want to clean the Qt and the Plasma caches.

Ah thanks, so this issue is indeed known.

Now there's also a bug report: Bug 379254 - ksmserver errors after updating to Plasma 5.9.5
