I need an advice re Plasma 5.x. My system is Kubuntu 17.04.
I've broke something and now my start menu (org.kde.kicker, imho) do not display favorite apps and regular applications in corresponding tabs. Computer, recent and Exit tabs are fine. The .desktop files are still on HDD. I can kill plasmashell and start it via sudo - in this case the start menu content is displayed properly (but without icons). So the problem must be with file permissions. I've tried to reinstall several system packets, remove/add kicker plasmoid, session logoff/login - it helped few times but only temporary - the menu content disappears again. Also the content disappears from Alt+F2 menu (org.kde.kickoff ?) at the same moment. Any idea where the things got broken? |

Try to remove/rename the folder ~/.config/menus/, this contains the user's menu structure.
Or choose "Restore system menu" (or similar) in kmenuedit. |

I'm getting
It seems I have the same problem described here: https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php ... 866&page=2 I've launched
and got some candidates to populate it from. Then I did:
and got error
so I removed it and tried again:
now it completed fine. I still can't see Apps in launcher menu but at least they could be found when I start typing in it. It seems I just need to restart plasma session.... P.S. Yes it fixed the problem after plasmashell relaunch. |
