Hello,

I have to install multiple clients with debian 9 and kde 5 with plasma 5.8. By default the desktop layout is set to "Desktop". But we need it to be "Folder View".
Unfortunately I couldn't find the proper config files (I looked into ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc and into /usr/share/plasma/shells/org.kde.plasma.desktop/contents/defaults, but every change resulted into a non working desktop.)

Which config files need to be changed?

Any help would be highly appreciated!

cheers,

use folderview as default containment: https://phabricator.kde.org/D4678

Testing with an old plasma 5.8.5 / KF 5.30 installation

1) Changing the
Code: Select all
Containment=org.kde.desktopcontainment

to
Code: Select all
Containment=org.kde.plasma.folder

at the /usr/share/plasma/shells/org.kde.plasma.desktop/contents/defaults

2) Making a new user.

3) Starting with the new user

The folderview is the default.

What way is the desktop not working ?

Thanks! This worked.

I changed something else, but not the desktopcontainment (I thought, this is for something else).
