Hello,

I'm on linux mint 18.1 with plasma version 5.8.7 and I'm having a problem where I am unable to call the tkinter function `.lift()` which is supposed to bring a window to the front. I'm not exactly sure how to track this down, but I figured I would start here.

my `.lift()` function works in Ubuntu, and on MacOS, so plasma for some reason isn't getting the call to lift the window when I tell it to.

I realize this could be a problem with Tkinter as well, but I figured I would just start here and see if anyone has noticed this before/has any ideas.

I'm running a python 2.7.10
