Taskbar shortcuts moving around

Sat Oct 21, 2017 2:48 am
I have my taskbar/panel docked to the left of my screen with several shortcuts pinned. Whenever I open one of them, the icon jumps to the bottom of the list of icons. When that program is closed, the icon moves back to its original location. Not a huge deal, but I'd like it if they stayed where they are. I'm sure there's a setting to fix this somewhere but I'm having a hard time finding it.

Thanks!

Right click the taskbar > Task Manager Settings...
Uncheck "Keep Launchers Seperate"
You might also want to set sorting to Manual if you'd like new windows to always appear at the end.

Oh damn, that did fix it! My laptop is Windows/Arch dual booted and I haven't been on the Arch side in a while. As I was typing out that post, I was also installing a whole bunch of updates, kwin 5.11.1 being one of them.

Thanks for the info.
