Hello,

on reboot, Plasma always forgets the order in which my opened programs are oriented on the window bar.

Example:
Before reboot, from left to right: grub2 : bash -- console, default : bash -- console, firefox, etc: bash -- console, KMail
After reboot, from left to right: default : bash -- console, etc: bash -- console, grub2 : bash -- console, KMail, firefox

Is this a bug, or have I overlooked a setting?

I have set the window bar sorting to "manual".
I have set "restore previous session" for reboot.

I am running Plasma 5.12.5 on openSUSE Leap 15.

Many thanks for your time
Jeff

At a guess, it doesn't remember anything about the order of apps in the bar. Instead the apps just show up in the order that they are launched (or the order that they open their respective windows).

So what do I do? File a bug report?

You might start by checking the KDE Store to see if there are alternative window manager widgets (such as Latte Dock) which provide the behaviors you desire.
Failing that, you can file a bug report to get the functionality added.

Thank you, that's a very good suggestion!
