Trying to set up a persistent configuration for my compose key settings and cannot get past the wiki because the instructions do not work.

$ sudo cp /etc/X11/xinit/xinput.d/default /etc/X11/xinit/xinput.d/xim

is not correct on openSuSe Leap 42.3.
I have no idea what I should change but it seems the wikis are well out of date. Can anybody sort this our for me please?
