My Event Calendar widget has stopped connecting to my Google calendar. I logged out of Google calendar from the Events Calendar widget settings panel thinking that logging out and back in might fix the problem. But it takes a few seconds to try and generate a device code to log in to Google and then gives the error; Http error 0: Could not connect to https://accounts.google.com.
This widget has stopped working on both of my systems running Kubuntu 18.04 with KDE Plasma 5.12.6, KDE Frameworks 5.44.0 and kernal 4.15.0-34-generic. Enabling Event Calendar settings debug gives the following output in .xsession-error. file:///home/parker/.local/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.eventcalendar/contents/ui/config/ConfigSerializedString.qml:15: SyntaxError: JSON.parse: Parse error file:///home/parker/.local/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.eventcalendar/contents/ui/config/ConfigSerializedString.qml:15: SyntaxError: JSON.parse: Parse error file:///home/parker/.local/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.eventcalendar/contents/ui/config/ConfigGoogleCalendar.qml:28: TypeError: Cannot call method 'concat' of null kdeinit5: Got EXEC_NEW '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kf5/kio/http.so' from launcher. kdeinit5: preparing to launch '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kf5/kio/http.so' I don't know what to try in order to get this working again. Any advice would be appreciated. |

This malfunction seems to be a regular event. Since my original post, I've upgraded to Kubuntu 19.10. Initial installation of the Event Calendar widget worked flawlessly. Then a few days ago, the Google calendar stopped updating. Pressing the "sync" button had no effect. Today I logged out of my Google account (from the Event Calendar settings dialog) and cannot log in again. I get a KIO client timeout error.

I've change my default browser from Konqueror to Firefox. In Event Calendar setting, I select Google calendar. Then I click on the hyperlink for accounts.google. com. This opens a page in Firefox asking to allow Events Calendar to access my account. I say yes and it the gives me a code to copy and paste into the Even Calendar settings dialog. I paste this code and click submit and ... nothing happens.
