I need some help:
I need to upload a file from a samba share however, from the Open dialog that opens when i press the webpage button to explore and select the file i want to upload, the network shortcuts do not appear. I already tried to set them manually with no luck. This happens in Qt and GTK software (even that both are using the qt's open dialog). Funny thing is that LibreOffice opendialog, for example, does show the network. Is there anything wrong with my configs? I really need this working... ( Already discussed here: https://pointieststick.com/2019/01/26/t ... mment-3749 ) (edit: it seems LO uses package lo_kde5filepicker while Firefox uses kmozillahelper can this be the problem? ) |

As a follow up to anyone that cares about this subject:
The programs in question are apparently using the "kdialog --getopenfilename" command that only allows the browse of local files instead of using "kdialog --getopenurl" that would allow the browse and selection of files from remote folders. It is connected with the support of KIO by the program |

Hello Maverick,
Thanks for information about "kdialog --getopenurl". I'm using the latest Kubuntu version and the same issue occurs. Did you get any soulution to this problem? Regards, Marcelo Costa |

Hi, Yes! This is tied to KIO and was, apparently, fixed in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=444457, which we'll get in next Plasma version - v.5.25 due to be released Jun, 14. |
