After playing with desktop effects in system settings, the slide transition between my vritual desktop effects is gone.
I did not succeed re-configuring it through the GUI, I tried restoring all settings to default. To be clear, transition is set to 'slide' but it just switches window, so no animation at all. Other desktop transition* animations are not working either. Now I would like to check the settings file where this virtual desktop slide transition setting is saved, but I cannot find it. The only file in .kde/share/config is kdeglobals. Contents here: https://pastebin.com/phcmYJiE Any hints where this setting is, or what might be wrong with the slide transition, are more than welcome! Sorry for posting before thouroughly investigating, but now I discovered that all desktop animations broke, including:
- Alt Tab switches without animation - Show desktop when hovering top left screen corner does not work anymore I'll investigate further |

OK so I found out what happened.
https://askubuntu.com/questions/758250/how-to-deactivate-all-the-desktop-effects-of-kde-permanently Compositor Settings for Desktop Effects got disabled. I'm close to sure this happened when changing something under Desktop Settings in the System Settings GUI, I did not enter the Compositor settings. I'll go try to reproduce the bug.. |
