I have recently switched from standard Ubuntu with Gnome to Kubuntu and am experiencing a problem when trying to run multiple simulations in parallel with Pygame. I launch them from the terminal and then the lower toolbar freezes by which I mean all icons/buttons on the lower toolbar are non responsive, none of the desktop icons(folders etc) work either. The programs that were running before the Pygame simulations were launched and the Pygame processes themselves carry on working fine and can still use the keyboard shortcuts to open new applications etc. How should I try to address this? Any suggestions welcome.
