Restoring a tiled Wine window?

Wed May 08, 2019 12:28 pm
I'm testing out plasma on wayland, and everything is running really well so far.

One annoying issue though - I play some fullscreen wine games, and sometime I'd like to run them side-by-side with another application as I have an ultrawide monitor. The Meta + Left/Right keys work great for this, but normally pressing the same key combination again resets the window to it's former fullscreen size. This doesn't work for Wine games. I can tile it left / right / up / down all I want, but there doesn't seem to be a way to return it to the original size.

I have also tried adding a new keyboard shortcut for "Make window fullscreen", which works on regular desktop windows but not for Wine.

Anyone have an idea how I can restore Wine games to their original fullscreen size after tiling them?

Re: Untile a Wine window?

I have the same issue here. I'm running Overwatch with Lutris, and I can easily tile the game with Windows key and any arrow:
  • Pan up or Tile up: Win+Up / Windows+Up / Meta+Up / Super+Up
  • Pan down or Tile down: Win+Down / Windows+Down / Meta+Down / Super+Down
  • Pan left or Tile left: Win+Left / Windows+Left / Meta+Left / Super+Left
  • Pan right or Tile right: Win+Right / Windows+Right / Meta+Right / Super+Right

However, I don't see how can I untile it, because Meta+PgUp (default shortcut for Maximize Windows under KWin section on Global Keyboard Shortcuts), does not untile it.
