Im trying to create a kiosk terminal.
So far , Im doing good but Im stoked with an issue.
I created a bunch of "link to application" icons on my desktop.
I would like to protect them for being deleted or modified.
I tryed adding the:
editable_desktop_icons=false
line on my [KDE Action Restrictions][$i] section at ~.config/kdeglobals file
But this does not work , I still can make right click on an icon and move to trash or rename.

Im considering following ways:
Find the kiosk key to disable right click on icons.
Find the kiosk key to remove "move to trash" or "rename" option in context menu , when right click over icon.
Manually navigate on settings menu to disable this behavior.
Make desktop folder read only , in order to be imposible to modify after desired setting.

b/w right click on desktop was properly disabled.
Any idea would be great,
Regards!!!

Another idea would be to switch the desktop layout in Desktop Settings from Folder View to Desktop, Set up the application icons you want, Lock the Widgets and then disable unlocking the widgets in the Kiosk settings (insofar as that is an option. I'm not familiar with the kiosk settings).

I would assume that using Folder View layout with a read-only folder should also disallow any file-editing actions which should also accomplish the same result. You can do that by either configuring the location of the Folder View in the Desktop Settings dialog or making the Desktop folder read-only.

This is what I did:
From the administrator user I did:
sudo chown -R administrator Desktop/
chmod -R g+x Desktop/

Now , when guest tryes to delete an icon doing right click "move to trash" , the system does not allow.

I think a better option would be either :
to block mouse right click over icon or to remove "move to trash" option on right click menú.
Regards.
