Plasma 5 - KDE Kiosk framework usage

Mon Oct 21, 2019 10:45 am
Hi everybody,
I'm trying for the first time to use the Kiosk framework to lockdown a workstation that will act as public kiosk.
The OS is Kubuntu 16.04 and the KDE Plasma 5.5.5 is running on it.

I'm unable to undestrand which kdeglobals file to modify to obtain my target.

Following what is written on the framework introduction page, if I print the environment variables I obtain:
  • $XDG_CONFIG_DIRS=/etc/xdg/xdg-/usr/share/xsessions/plasma:/etc/xdg/:/usr/share/kubuntu-default-settings/kf5-settings
  • $XDG_CONFIG_HOME - not defined

If I create a kdeglobals file with any directive in each of the $XDG_CONFIG_DIRS directories, nothing appens.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!
F.
