Long time Fedora/KDE user. I just upgraded to KDE version of Fedora 31. Absolutely love it overall, however, Simple Scan can't find my Canon Pixma MX 922 multi-function printer/scanner. The printer portion is found & works flawlessly, but it won't find the scanner. When I install Fedora Gnome, it finds both with no problem. Unfortunately, I don't like Gnome at all & love KDE which so far works without a hitch, but I need to get this issue resolved or it may be a deal breaker for me. The caveat is that I had the same problem with 30, so I just installed Fedora, then added the KDE desktop, which was less than optimal, but it worked. Unfortunately, Fedora 31 Gnome won't install on my ASUS Vivobook for some whacky reason. This may be a blessing in disguise in that I would rather do a clean install with KDE Fedora. If I can get my scanner working, I will be thrilled. Thanks in advance for the help

this could just be due to an older sane package shipped with what Fedora ships with their KDE. please ask them.

FWIW: KDE or Gnome do not provide specific printer or scanner settings, those are provided by external libraries, like sane for scanners.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
