The forum is blocking arhiepiscop from replying (Cloudflare false positive on bad actor), so they sent me the reply. I will quote:
I guess we might finally consider reporting to https://bugs.kde.org/ |

I'm on 4.19LTS kernel now and problem seems resolved.
Wonder if it possible that this regression would be somehow resolved in future releases of newer kernels. Just noticed that there is second page with replies here. Thanks to beluga for posting my reply. |

specs:
x86_64 kernal: 5.4.0-47-generic distro: KDE Neon 5.18 plasmashell: 5.19.5
I did have one suspicious process running under wine at the time of crash but other than that all I was doing was browsing in Firefox. I walked away from my desk for 5 minutes to make coffee and when I came back the desktop environment was unresponsive (event to alt+2) and I had to change tty to restart plasmashell. This ended up not working and so I rebooted entirely. Logs before the reboot below... Here is my journalctl around the time of incident:

It just happened again, this time without the questionable Wine application running when it happened. The only open application was a Firefox browser tab when I walked away from my desk for 5-10 minutes. When I came back the desktop was completely unresponsive so I immediately cat the logs. The only logs that appeared in the ~10 minute window about the time that the crash occurred share a couple common outputs:
Hope this is helpful. If there is a better place to store these logs for debugging please let me know! Thanks |

I have a problem → https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php ... 3#p1928963. Will reinstalling KDE correct the error?

I am facing the same problem on my Mageia 7.1 and have not yet found a way to resolve it. Still following the alt+f2 workaround to kill plasmashell and to relaunch. Linux 5.7.19-desktop-3.mga7 #1 SMP Sun Oct 18 15:46:00 UTC 2020 GNU/Linux plasmashell 5.15.4 Does anyone know if there is a bug out there for us to track it and provide any relevant information to help fix this? |

Please, people, this needs to be reported to the bug tracker, the forum can't resolve these issues, and posting hundred of lines of log files will not either.
https://bugs.kde.org is the place for bug reports
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
