Hello,
So for starters, I am still fairly new to Linux and KDE, so bare with me if I'm not using the correct terminology. Anyways, I have a 30 MB/s internet speed and for whatever reason, the default drivers for my WiFi card, would only give me half my usual speed on fast.com. So I updated the drivers to something I found on github, and fast.com is reporting a 30 MB/s speed, except every website seems to have a few seconds of a delay before it will actually load. Is there anything I can do to improve this? I have tried the following: - Changed WiFi Driver - Disable power management. - Turn my internet metering from "automatic" to "off" - Changed my DNS servers to the OpenDNS servers My relevant system specs are as follows: OS: Kubuntu 19.10 WiFi Card: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8812AE 802.11ac PCIe Wireless Network Adapter EDIT: Here is a link to the alternative drivers I downloaded: https://github.com/lwfinger/rtlwifi_new. I ended up installing the RTL8821AE driver, as someone told me it's compatible with the RTL8812AE WiFi card. But I am starting to wonder how true that was. |
