KDE Vaults get me error 20

Sat Apr 25, 2020 5:43 pm
Hi,

When creating a new Vault I get an error message with error code 20. After a reboot (new logon) the vault is after in the vaults list.
When I try to open the vault I get the error message 20 again.

The german error message is:
Fehler beim Öffnnen: Der Vorgang kann nicht durchgeführt werden (Fehlercode 20)

I'm using plasma-vault 5.18.4.1 on Manjaro Linux 19.0.2!
The existing older vaults work without errors.

Update:
To narrow down the error I have tested the following:

    * create successfully a folder directly with encfs
    Code: Select all
     encfs /media/data/.plasma-vault/test.enc /media/data/test

    * Add the encrypted folder manually to ~/.config/plasmavaultrc
    Code: Select all
    [/media/data/.plasma-vault/test.enc]
    activities=
    backend=encfs
    lastError=Unbekanntes Gerät (code: 1)
    lastStatus=2
    mountPoint=/media/data/test
    name=test
    offlineOnly=false

When I try to open the encrypted folder plasma-vaults I get the same error code 20.
The command mount | grep "encfs" shows me that the folder is not mounted.
When I run encfs /media/data/.plasma-vault/test.enc /media/data/test I can see in plasma-vaults that the folder is mounted and I can unmount the folder with plasma-vaults.

Any Idea that the error code 20 mean?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello,

I may have the same issue as you do. I get the error 20 when I try to create a vault with a name I've used before. It doesn't matter, that I deleted the old vault with the name and the config file. Only solution I've found so far is to just use a different name.

Hope I help

Just try, it works for me:

Delete the folder ~/Vaults/Vault_NAME.
Delete the folder ~/.vaults/Vault_NAME.enc.
Delete the entry for the vault inside of ~/.config/plasmavaultrc.
change name or delete /home/martin/.local/share/cryfs

Thanks, that worked! :)
