How about: your distribution and exact Plasma version?
or: do you save your desktop session?

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

I stumbled over that problem while testing newly build packages.

Plasma Version: 5.19.5
Frameworks: 5.74.0
Qt: 5.15.1
Linux Kernel: 5.8.9
Distro: witchOS (GNU/Linux based)

Even when removing them from the config files they are still persistent. (Odd)
The only way to solve this was to completely remove all plasma conf files from home directory.

This occured with desktop applets (all) and some panel applets (desktop, switcher, fav-app-icons)
If anyone knows a solution or a patch i would be great to let me know :)

Stay healthy.

Do you save the Session on logout?
How do you shut down your computer?
Are you ev. talking about Latte Doc?
