Here you can see both of your connected monitors.

So lets test following (you can replace left with right if the second display is right of your laptop)
Code: Select all
xrandr --output HDMI-2  --left-of eDP-1

This setting is not persistent, so if anything does not fit, you can always type in `xrandr --auto` to get back to the basic setting. You could also play around with the resolutions to find something fitting your needs.

The UbuntuWiki:X-Config-Resolution shows you some examples, but be careful with persistent configurations as it can lead you to a non working graphical desktop. On failure you can always switch over to another TTY using the default shortcuts ctrl+alt+F1 to F7 and revert the not working settings, if needed.

If you found a working setup, let us know ;)

I found on another forums post a minimal configuration for nvidia cards using the xorg.conf:
Code: Select all
Section "Device"
    Identifier     "nvidia"
    Driver         "nvidia"
    VendorName     "NVIDIA Corporation"
    BusID          "…HERE…"
    Option         "AllowEmptyInitialConfiguration"
EndSection

Replace the «…HERE…» with the BusID, e.g. PCI:1:0:0

So, that's the report:
I tried every possible combination for xorg.conf, and none of them worked. It was a very sad story actually. But, tonight I upgraded my system to Kubuntu 20.10 (and KDE 19.5). Now, this problem was resolved by itself. I don't know where was the problem exactly, but I think maybe a series of communication issues between several modules. But now, everything is just ok.
Thank you all for great efforts for solving my issue.
