I have recently upgraded to openSUSE 42.2, which uses KDE Plasma Version 5.8.6 and KDE Frameworks version 5.26.0. One minor quibble with the upgraded version of KDE is that the order of Activities keeps changing with the most recent activity at the top. Previously the order was fixed so skipping backwards and forwards between four different activities was more intuitive. In the settings of each activity I've tried choosing "Private do not track this activity" but the system still reorders the list each time.

Under my .config directory I have found a file 'kactivitymanagerdrc' which has a line "org.kde.ActivityManager.ResourceScoringEnabled=true". If I change this to false, will it stop the order of activities changing or will it crash the system?

And while I am here, where can I find documentation about such files and features? There are also a lot of what appear to be old versions of 'kactivitymanagerdrc' there with names like 'kactivitymanagerdrc.TJ1391'. Are they really needed?

Regards,

D.

HI, sorry to come back on this but I did not see a clear response to the original question of that topic:

How to order activities constantly by alphabetical order, not by recently used as it is on my KUbuntu 18.04 ?

It is very anoying to see the menu's activies order constantly changing, for me
