panel widgets created inadvertently

Plasma 5.19.5 running on Ubuntu 20.10
When rearranging the icons of running applications on the panel in taskbar mode, sometimes it creates a widget on the panel.

What widget is created? Please be a tad more specific, especially which particular taskbar widget you are using and what your settings are. Just tried here, using the Icons only taskbar and I see no problems.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

To be more specific: I have Google Chrome running. I slide its icon to the left on the panel, passing the icons of other running programs such as Firefox and VirtualBox. A Chrome widget now appears on the panel. So I now have two Chrome icons on the panel: one that is pinned, and a new one that is in the form of "Add to Panel (Widget)".
After a little experimenting, I think this happens when I move the icon fast. When I move it slowly and gently, it does not create a second icon. Not sure if this is coincidental or not.
