openSUSE Leap 15.2, KDE Plasma 5.22.90, KDE Frameworks 5.86.0, QT Version 5.15.2
On upgrade to Plasma 5.22.90, Desktop Cube has disappeared altogether from System Settings > Desktop Effects including its animations. No listing of either. Other elements of DE seem OK. Is there some way to fix this??? |

I came here to post on the apparent imminent demise of one of my most-used features, and your post confirms the rumour is true. Those of us who need the cube must fight for its preservation. It just isn't acceptable to remove something people rely on for efficient handling of desktop transitions. We expect new features to be added, not long-standing and useful established ones to be removed.
Let's stand up for the cube. File a bug report, let the developers know we need it. |

I want the desktop cube back. I have updated recently opensuse and instantly missed the desktop cube. I have been searching everywhere. This is the first post to reveal that it was intentional. I missed (or didn't read) the release notes where this was announced. I want the desktop cube back. The current desktop effect is awful.

This has already been explained here: viewtopic.php?f=289&t=172850&p=449579&hilit=desktop+cube#p449419
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
