Hello,
(Kubuntu 21.04, fully up to date: KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.80.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2) I have a .jpg image. On click, the gwenview icon appears as loading in the taskbar for a blink, then disappears; nothing more happens. Gwenview's gui does not appear, I don't see the picture, no gwenview task anywhere. I look at the filetype assoc; "gwenview %U", as normal. I run $gwenview <the picture> (relative or absolute path), no problem. I even tried replacing the association by "kdialog --error %U", to see what %U was expanded as, and it turns out it's just the absolute path to the picture. So the exact command KDE should be running to start the app (gwenview <abs path to the picture>) works from console, but somehow not from the desktop. Thus I assume the desktop does not, in fact, run that exact command... Can anyone shed light on what's going on here? |

.... and suddenly it works again !
I did nothing except unmounting an external hard drive and clicking on an image (the same test image as before) from the Desktop instead of from Dolphin. It's nice that it works now, but I'd still like to understand what happened. ![]() |
