I ran an own python script which created a window of 500 by 500 pixels which was expanded to fullscreen and broke the whole desktop. No multimonitor glitchy graphics. I even loaded a backup from a few days ago but the desktop is still broken. I don't know why exactly it's broken and I don't know how to fix it. I don't want to reinstall the whole system because there is too much customization which would be lost and also a hell of a lot software I would loose. I don't want to spend hours of reinstalling and reconfiguring the whole system and software.
Error information:
Also there is something about an executable error with "plasmashell PID: 2015 Signal: Segmentation fault (11)". The desktop itself is somehow running but many panels are missing and my secondary monitor is glitchy, wide and kind of a mirroring of the built in one of my laptop. Plasma doesn't even recognise the second monitor. SDDM is okay but plasma is just broken. I did even restore a backup from the boot recovery menu and it didn't change anything. I really need help with this. |

Is another script running? What exactly did you put in that script? might be useful to tell what you invoked. Also specifics about your exact Plasma version and distribution version are always helpful.
Why do you think you have to reinstall? Did you test with a new user?
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
