KDE Desktop behaviour with matrix switch

Hello,
first things first my setup:
I have two PCs, one work pc and a private one. The work pc is running windows 10, the private one Arch Linux (5.16.16-arch1-1) with KDE-Plasma 5.24.3 and KDE-Frameworks 5.92.0.
I have two monitors that are hooked up to both pcs via a matrix switch.
The problem:
Bot pcs are running. The first time i switch from work to private, everything works fine. when i switch the second time from work to private then one workspace switches to folder view while the other ist black. But at the black one i still have access to the menu bars.
When i restart those settings reapear so that i have to manually reconfigure my workspaces.
I already tried to switch the settings around, so that a manually safed session is restored instead of the last one at login, but the behaviour was the same.
I never had any deep issues with kde plasma till now, so i don't know where to look for information on the issue. Has anyone an idea what the problem could be or where i should look for logs on the issue?

Hi!

I cannot offer a solution but point you in a direction. Every time you switch the displays from one pc to another the ports of these displays change. If you are using an Xsession you can compare this with

xrandr -q  # and
xrandr --listactivemonitors

The results should show you increased numbers for the displays found.

Technically you pull out the dp/hdmi cable and plug it back in after a while, so that the output is dynamically switched to a known configuration with these outputs. As there is no known configuration for this combination it results in a new default setting.
