Plasma 5 does not start

Fri Jun 03, 2022 4:25 pm
Hello,

I am running Debian Sid and performed a full-upgrade this morning. Afterward Plasma 5 does not start. The sddm login screen just cycles. xfce4 and LXQt start fine, but I use KDE full time.

There is an undefined symbol error in .xsession-errors:
/usr/bin/startplasma-x11: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libkworkspace5.so.5: undefined symbol: _ZN4KJob8doResumeGv

The symbol is present:
Code: Select all
$ readelf -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libkworkspace5.so.5 | grep Job8
   250: 0000000000000000     0 FUNC    GLOBAL DEFAULT  UND _ZN4KJob8doResumeEv
I'm at a loss. Any advice on how to resolve this issue?

Thanks.

Assuming you checked updates since? Still not working?

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
