Hi,
I connected a second screen to my KDE desktop, and now the screens will never go into powersave mode. The main question will be how to debug. I know the global why, but getting the real culprit will take many logs which I don't know how to get. Using an RX580 with AMDGPU, what happens: The machine tries to put screens into powersave mode. Screens lose signal. One when one of the screens goes into standby, kscreen reconfigures the desktop into one screen mode, prompting a refresh of all screens and waking both up, triggering another kscreen reconfiguration. (I haven't tried with different single screen combinations...) Wait for standby timeout, repeat. How can I get detailed logs of kscreen/HDMI metadata communication? Thanks |

So, funny story, under wayland it kind of works. The lockscreen must have a shorter timeout than screen poweroff, otherwise it cycles until the lockscreen kicks in.
