Hello,

When you copy a linked desktop URL to another folder it fails with Dolphin and in the command line because the name contains forward slashes that are not handled properly.

In particular, if you drag the desktop linked URL to the Konsole and add the destination folder you obtain:

Code: Select all
$ cp /home/flopez/Desktop/https:⁄⁄www.4thdayalliance.com⁄observing⁄stargazing_basics⁄astronomy_terms⁄.desktop /media/autor/projects/AstroML/
cp: cannot create regular file '/media/autor/unir/projects/AstroML/IAC/https:⁄⁄www.4thdayalliance.com⁄observing⁄stargazing_basics⁄astronomy_terms⁄.desktop': No such file or directory

If you copy the desktop linked URL using Dolphin you get an error message.

How can I save linked desktop URLs in a directory?

Thank you

Can't reproduce that. Copying, both with Dolphin and konsole works fine. As a sidenote: I don't use the regular copy/paste servicemenu ( since that stuff doesn't work on desktop files since...Waterloo) but my own zenity based copy/paste service menu.

This realm's name is Maya. And she speaks Hertz. But Ahamkara makes a fuzz about it.

Btw, I noticed there's a path misdirection in your command. "Unir" seems to be missing.
