I just booted my Debian 11 PC today and when I entered the password SDDM just froze. I waited several minutes then went to another tty and logged into to see .xsession-errors had the following errors:
This was a fresh install of Debian 11 and the desktop was installed through tasksel. Through a tty I can run startx and it hangs until I press ctrl-c exactly 4 times then the desktop comes right in and I'm logged in (Don't know why I have to press ctrl-c, but kde wont come up unless I do). This kinda feels like an NVidia problem (surprise surprise), but I don't know why KDE could still start and run fine through another tty if it was a driver issue. Versions: 5.10.0-17-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 5.10.136-1 (2022-08-13) x86_64 GNU/Linux Kde Plasma Version: 5.20.5 Kde framworks version: 5.78.0 Qt version: 5.15.2 GPU: Quadro P600 (running the nvidia drivers from developer.download.nvidia.com repository) |
