Screensharing in Wayland

Sun Jan 08, 2023 6:11 pm
Hi,
I have installed Fedora KDE and use Wayland (see below for the detailed information). I was wondering about multiple things regarding the screen sharing: I expected to be asked by Plasma when an application tries to capture the screen, similar to Gnome. This indeed happens for Firefox. But for other applications like Spectacle or Flameshot, this doesn't happen, they just have access to the screen. Is it possible to adjust a option somewhere in the preferences so I always get asked?

My second question is about some applications that seem to not fully support Wayland (like Discord or Signal). When I try to share my screen there, I can share my screens, but they are black. The application windows are not displayed in the selector window, except a few ones like Thunderbird (see attached picture, it's a screenshot from Signal Desktop where I can only share Thunderbird and the Signal window itself although many other applications are open). Does anyone have an idea why the isolation seems to be partially broken?

Thanks a lot in advance :)
