Once the 'Dictionary' widget is used after adding it to the desktop, it resizes itself as seen in the screen capture. Much of the widget space is empty. Any attempt to RESIZE the widget fails. Why??

In lieu of any help on this, how can I post this issue to a KDE plasma developer's forum / channel?

File a bug report on bugs.kde.org, against Plasmashell >> General, most likely. This is where developers will see it. But from your image, and from other forum posts, your Plasma version is a older and (5.18). The current Plasma's dictionary widget does not behave like this, so it may well be considered as 'fixed'. As you are on a quite old Plasma version, then there is not much chance of this being fixed there, and even less of your distro adding it to its update cycle as Kubuntu 20.04 reaches end-of-life this April. However, as this seems to still happen on Plasma 5.24, which is an LTS version, a bug report might be useful if you plan to upgrade your OS.

@claydoh:
Thanks for the info. I don't understand versions shown in Synaptic: ![]() And were I to upgrade, would that be to 22.04? |

Use KInfoCenter, or easier, the System Information section in System Settings. it will give you all your Plasma and other system and software versions.
Yes, Assuming you are on Kubuntu 20.04, which has Plasma 5.18 22.04 gets you Plasm 5.24 But as I mentioned, you will still see this happen there. You would need to upgrade again away from the 2-year LTS track, to 22.10, then in April to 23.04, and every 6 months thereafter. Or until 24.04, and get back on the LTS track. 5.24 is a Long Term Support version of Plasma, so it will be worth reporting on this version, but I cannot say if there will be any actual future updates or not to that version, or when they might be released. The developer (s) of this may not be aware of this as an issue, and won't know if its concern unless it is brought up via a bug report. Unless someone can comment on how to modify the qml scripting to make it act in a more desirable fashion, I have no other suggestions.

Can you post a link to it, so other users can find it easier?
