We wrote the KDE Guide some years ago, so it could use some freshening. Besides that, sometimes it disappears from http://flossmanuals.net/kde-guide/.

What is needed is to pull out the content, put into markdown or so, and then upload it to git with some of our other KDE Books (http://books.kde.org).

Please join #kde-books if you are interested in taking up this task.

It is not necessary that the person doing the moving is also the person(s) freshening the content.

I would suggest to contact the people at flossmanuals.net (there is a discussion list: http://lists.flossmanuals.net/pipermail ... nuals.net/).
The disappearance could be simply caused by the migration to the new website. The old contents are available on the old website: http://archive.flossmanuals.net/kde-guide/. They may have the source code too.

Also, it's worth checking how much of the content is already covered by:

• https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/development
• https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Build_from_source

Thanks Tosky, somehow I had fallen off the discuss list, and my post was being held in moderation. So I'll fix that.

We've long discussed moving the Devel Guide to KDE infra, but as long as flossmanuals was working for us, we let it sit. I agree that much of the information is also found elsewhere, but on the other hand, many beginners have enjoyed having such basic information all in one place, and available for reading off-line.
