I'm considering to use Plasma Mobile as the base system for a commercial mobile device with a special UI and UX that adopts to situations and periphals. The concept of Plasma Mobile is inspiring and perfect for my purpose, as soon it reaches a beta level.

What SDK and IDE wold you recommend to use and setup? I have allready created a virtual machine with Neon to play around with a mature Plasma OS and prepare the installation of an SDK and IDE. Doeas KDE offer a convenient bundle like Microsoft, Apple, Android or Sailfish?

I use mostly KDevelop to develop Plasma applications. It has good integration for QtQuick code and its C++ capabilities are excellent. The plasma-sdk package comes with a number of utilities that makes Plasma development more convenient. There's a icon viewer (called cuttlefish), a Look & Feel explorer and a theme previewer for example.

Other people like QtCreator for the code bits a lot.

A good starting point are the examples under the plasma-framework git repository and the (work-in-progress) developer guide which can be found at https://community.kde.org/Plasma/DeveloperGuide
