Still Nexus 5 or Nexus 5X *only*?

Wed May 23, 2018 1:33 pm
Hey to those who know... is Plasma Mobile still only supported on the Nexus 5 and Nexus 5X? Or have people gotten it running on other devices? I've joined the KDE cult in the last six months and am considering making the big switch. I learned that the Nexus 5's were the predecessor to Google's Pixel phones. Is that possible? The Pixel 2 is a pretty sharp phone.

The hangup is that I currently use an iPhone X with 256GB of storage. It'd be a big reduction in experience to switch from a flagship phone to one that's a few years old.

I understand very well that PM is still under active development. I see the work produced by the PM devs (both mobile and desktop) and they're some brilliant and talented people.

Maybe I should look into Postmarket OS? I'm a decade out of the loop on Android devices, so I have no idea what's "hot and current" compared to aged. Maybe I should find a tablet that can run Postmarket OS and put Plasma Mobile on that? Would that be any kind of satisfactory experience?
