I was hoping to get some help using KAuth to add running AUR upgrades in the background.

Currently my issue is that I can't run pexec as half the AUR Helpers can't run as root. I need to escalate it to sudo/root privileges and it seems like KAuth/Polkit is the tool for the but the documentation isn't very helpful

Also a feature I wanted to add was a KNotification popup when updates are available versus just updating the number on compact representation. I assume that requires a dbus interface?

Would love to get some help.
