Hi there!

I'm Matt and I'm new here. I have a question if you don't mind:

How would I go about changing widgets in the panel in a way which is not customizable through the menus? More specifically, if I want to reduce the Show Desktop widget's width or change its icon, how would I best do this? I'm thinking if I set a different icon with smaller width, the widget's width will adapt and be smaller, too.

I assume I must somehow get the source code for the widget (whatever that may look like), make the changes, recompile, install and configure my panel to use the new widget instead?

I could use some pointers how the workflow is meant to be in KDE.

Thank you in advance!
