I have a question:
Is it legal for reddit moderators of r_KDE to use KDE logo in LGBT colors. Is it consistent with logo license?

https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/

Is it in line with KDE code of conduct - to support certain groups that are politically active and be selective in this choice? For example: why they don't support women rights in middle-east region? Who have the right to decide?

Do you realize that it can stop certain people from funding KDE? Of course on the other hand it can make others, like George Soros to fund but does KDE really want to go in that direction and engage in such politics. Pretending that it has nothing to do with politics is a pure lie.

What other KDE contributors think about it? For example: do all KDE funders support engaging software community in non-software activity?

I know that reddit is separate website and has nothing to do with this forum, however this is social and community issue as well.

What about adding to KDE code of conduct: KDE is not engage in social or political dispute. KDE doesn't discriminate nor support any groups other than Free Software.

Personally I believe there are thousands of other better places on the Internet to express whatever point of view someone has and KDE and its community should not be involved in such activities.

I understand your concern, but please raise this with the KDE Community mailing list, the forum is definitely the wrong place for this.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

I sent to email list
https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/kde-comm ... 06452.html
And they replied but today I posted a message and it was rejected without explanation:

Your request to the kde-community mailing list
Posting of your message titled "reddit r_KDE uses KDE logo in LGBT colors"
has been rejected by the list moderator. The moderator gave the
following reason for rejecting your request:

"[No explanation given]"

This is disgusting how they block free speech. They are worst that Microsoft.

So I reply here:

So, is KDE team openly Marxist?

Do you know that Marx thought that terrorism is necessary step towards reaching goals of revolution?

Why don't you support Muslims in China? They are kept in reeducation
camps and many are killed. Because Reddit is sponsored by China? Do
you have courage do do so?

Is this your personal point of view or the point of view of the whole KDE team?
Do founders know about your it? Or you keep them unaware by not stating this openly for example on KDE main site?

> I'd say yes, as long as those "groups that are politically active" are compatible with KDE's values as spelled out in the code of conduct. In my
opinion, this applies to the LGBT community.

> Endorsing LGBT rights does not imply a lack of endorsement for any other movement

Yet, you don't do it. Can you list what other movements do you endorse?

> Nate Graham
> The whole point is a revolutionary liberation of software.

So, you want to force with violence and power other software developers to produce free software (with guns pointing at their heads)?

Free software is only free when developer have freedom to chose to make it free. Revolution implies coercive measures to force other to do it the way you want.

This is what Russian revolution did, not with software developers but with ordinary people. Are you aware that the number of people killed
by the Communist governments amounts to more than 94 million:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Black ... of_victims

This is what you support?

I come from post communist country: Poland and believe me the only people who support Marxism, communism, or socialism are the people who
directly benefited from it by being involved in structure of government, but this was in exchange for giving up freedom of speech, freedom of choice, freedom of traveling to another countries, poverty, and the blood on their hands.

To me you are either completely unaware of what really is behind of these Marxist "ideas" or your are point blank evil.

You are brainwashed by purpose. Real communist will kill you or make
you slaves of a totalitarian regime. You will not have freedom at all.
And software will be controlled by the government.

And it is not even about communism. When China or Russia will win over
USA they will kill you and steal everything from you. This is what
real politics is about, about domination and power and not about
utopian ideas.

Do you think people in communist China are free?

Think again in what direction are you heading. Learn history.

LGBT movement is only used by socialists like Goerge Soros who
sponsors them for his hidden agenda.

Homosexuality was largely invisible during the Mao era because homosexuality was pathologised and criminalized

They say free software is about politics. Why they not allow to discuss politics?

Just for the record: "Free speech" is a concept specific to the USA and simply does not apply here, KDE as a Community is perfectly entitled to block content we don't like, and homophobia is definitely not tolerated. Our rules and policies are quite clear and have been since years. If you don't like those this is your problem, and if you can't abide by the rules maybe this community is not for you.

Consider this discussion closed.
