Why is using real name as Git username required?

Hello,
at https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/ ... figure_Git is written, that when contributing to KDE, I should use my real name as a git username:
The name you provide should be your actual name, not your KDE Identity username.

I would like to contribute to KDE, but stay anonymous. So why is this rule there? What is the real name needed for?

FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
