hi I am very new to creating plasma widgets. I have gone through the getting started tutorials on the kde development site
i have created the python hello world example. I then packaged the code into a zip file and installed the widget after I make changes to the code how do I go about getting those changes to affect my installed widget? I tried uninstalling the widget, re-creating my zip file, then re-installing the widget, but there is no change. The original code is still being run... If this is posted in the wrong section or this question is too noob-like for the development section please point me in the right direction thank you |

Which commands did you use to install the widget? What is the page you got the instructions from?

If you restart Plasma, or try viewing your applet with plasmoidviewer, does the change show up?

The changes never show up. I have been using plasmoidviewer to try it out. After your post i tried restarting plasma with kquitapp plasma-desktop kstart plasma-desktop then i used plasmoidviewer hello-python still does not show what I would expect from the second tutorial. It seems to be the exact same code running from when I first installed the plasmoid thank you for reading my post |

Can you please try uninstalling your applet, verifying that no further files from your applet exist, and then try to open it? It should fail. If it succeeds in opening it after uninstalling it, then recheck to make sure you have no installations elsewhere.
Once this is done, reinstall your applet again.
