GDB and ark

Sun Jun 17, 2012 4:56 am
So I have tried in the past to make a small change to ark in the hopes of maybe eventually submitting bug fixes. This time around I managed to get ark build and run correctly (I think.) At this point I want to trace the execution of a function with gdb, but it doesn't seem to see any symbols in the part folder. I can trace it as it executes main, but not the file I need to see.

Help?

The loaded part is likely the system wide part instead of your locally built Ark part.
In order to change this behaviour, you need to set a few environment variables.

Run the following, then try starting Ark.
Code: Select all
export KDEDIRS=/path/to/self/built/ark/install:$(kde4-config --prefix)
kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental

You will need to change /path/to/self/built/ark/install as appropriate. Installing it to a directory somewhere (even in your home directory) is required due to the necessary directory structure.
