Hi,

According to Desktop Menu Specification that kde-applications.menu must use applications-merged as the default merge directory, third parties may add new menu files in this location to create their own sub-menus. But I added menu file to the applications-merged which did not displayed on menu.

The <MergeFile>applications-kmenuedit.menu</MergeFile> is specified in applications.menu, I could not even find applications-kmenuedit.menu. Can anyone please explain how to make menus in applications-merged to be displayed on the Applications menu? And where is the location I can find the applications-kmenuedit.menu.

Thank you.

applications-kmenuedit.menu is created in your home directory by KMenuEdit, and contains the modifications you make to the menu. The name "kde-applications.menu" is actually a distroism. The real name of the file is applications.menu. Unfortunately I do not know how to merge in menus exactly. My guess is that it needs to be at the appropriate system-wide or user-local location.

For user-local, this is likely to be ~/.config/menus/ or ~/.config/xdg/menus/.
