Hey there Everyone
Long time KDE user here, trying my hand at a manga reader for plasma active. I know Javascript fairly well, and I know that QML is the "preferred" dev tool, but I like Ruby so much because of it's well developed eco system, particularly for TDD("If it's not worth testing, then it's not worth writing!"). When everything is in place, I can build much faster with Ruby than ECMAScript stuff. Running Kubuntu Precise. I have installed korundum, ruby 1.8 through the repositories. I can't get it to run a basic app made using Qt Designer and rbuic4. Whenever I run I get this darned error:
I tried creating a symbolic link to /usr/lib/ruby-1.9.1.so.1.9.1. That gets rid of the error, but then it seg faults:
Anyone else have similar problems? I could barely find any mention of korundum on the forum or anywhere else in the world |

Taking a guess - it would seem that Korundum on your system was built against Ruby 1.9 - which is incompatible with the Ruby 1.8 installed on your system. This would explain the library not found and segmentation fault messages you get.

Thanks. I'll have to contact the package maintainer. When I run the program with ruby 1.9, per the repositories, it says the gem does not exist.

Turns out a compilation of qtbindings from one of my RVM installs was causing mayhem. Stick with the repos!
SOLVED! |

Marked as Solved. Good to hear you managed to find the cause of the issue.
